Budtrack ("we," "our," or "us") is committed to protecting your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, disclose, and safeguard your information when you use our mobile application and related services.

1. Information We Collect

Account Information: When you create an account, we collect your email address, name, and password. If you sign in with Google, we receive your name and email from Google.

Financial Data: When you connect your bank account through Plaid, we receive transaction data including merchant names, amounts, dates, and categories. We do not store your bank login credentials. Plaid handles the secure connection to your financial institution.

Budget and Spending Data: We store the budgets you create, spending limits, categories you configure, and how you categorize transactions.

Device Information: We may collect device identifiers and push notification tokens to deliver alerts and updates.

2. How We Use Your Information

We use your information to:

Provide and maintain the Budtrack service
Sync your transactions and display spending insights
Generate personalized budget tips and AI-powered insights (when you use Premium features)
Process subscription purchases and manage your Premium membership
Send push notifications about your budget (e.g., when you're approaching your limit)
Respond to support requests and improve our service

3. Third-Party Services

We use the following third-party services that may collect or process your data:

4. Data Storage and Security

Your data is stored on secure servers. We use industry-standard encryption (HTTPS/TLS) for data in transit and take reasonable measures to protect data at rest. We do not sell your personal information.

5. Data Retention

We retain your account and transaction data for as long as your account is active. If you delete your account, we will delete your personal data within a reasonable timeframe, except where we are required to retain it for legal or regulatory purposes.

6. Your Rights

Depending on your location, you may have the right to:

Request correction of inaccurate data
Request deletion of your data
Object to or restrict certain processing

Budtrack is not intended for users under 13 years of age. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13.

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of any material changes by posting the new policy on this page and updating the "Last updated" date. Continued use of the app after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
